Etsy Shop Suspended?!

Hi,

Three days before Christmas, Sarah (an Etsy admin) decided to suspend my second shop on Etsy which I opened it on October 15, 2011. It was a shoe-shop, hosting products from our family business. She considered that my shop "does not appear to qualify for the Etsy marketplace". And therefore "As my items do not appear to meet the criteria to sell on Etsy, my shop has been deactivated".

At this moment, while reading the mail she sent me I was like:

Crocheted Flat Circle

The following pattern is taken from Lucy's blog (Attic24). As I promised, I will show you the pattern with US terminology for crocheting. I wasn't able to take photos of a step by step process but you can find them on Lucy's blog. So, let's start!
You can use whatever hook size or yarn you desire.

Start with chain 4 and join to form a ring.
Round 1: Chain 2. Work 10 dc into the ring.
Slip stitch into 2nd chain of initial chain-2 to join the round. (11 stitches)

Round 2: Chain 2.. Work 1 dc into same stitch as your chain. **work 2 dc's into the next stitch** (this makes a double "V" stitch, or an increase stitch).
Repeat between **, 9 more times.
Slip stitch into 2nd chain of initial chain-2 to join the round. (22 stitches)

Round 3: Chain 2. Work 1 dc into the same stitch as the chain.
Now work the following: 1 dc in next stitch,  **2 dc's in next stitch, 1 dc in next stitch**
Repeat between ** , making 1 single dc in between each double "V" stitch.
You should end the round with a single dc in the last stitch... Never end a round with a double "V" stitch or else you are making too many stitches and it'll all go horribly wrong!
Slip stitch into 2nd chain of initial chain-2 to join the round.

Round 4: Chain 2.
Work 1 dc into the same stitch as the chain.
Now work the following: 1 dc, 1 dc, **2 dc's, 1 dc, 1 dc**
Repeat between ** , making 2 single dc stitches in between each double "V" stitch.
Again, make sure you end the round with your 2 single dc's.
Slip stitch to 2nd chain of initial chain-2.

Round 5: Chain 2.
Work 1 dc into the same stitch as the chain.
Now work the following: 1 dc, 1 dc, dc, **2 dc's, 1dc , 1 dc, 1 dc**
Repeat between ** , this time making 3 single dc stitches in between each double "V" stitch.
Slip stitch to 2nd chain of initial chain-2.

Round 6: Chain 2.
Work 1 dc into the same stitch as the chain.
Now work the following: 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, **2 dc 's, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc**
Repeat between ** , this time making 4 single dc stitches in between each double "V" stitch.
Slip stitch to 2nd chain of initial chain-2.

Round 7: Chain 2.
Work 1 dc into the same stitch as the chain.
Now work the following: 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, **2 dc's, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc**
Repeat between ** , this time making 5 single dc stitches in between each double "V" stitch.
Slip stitch to 2nd chain of initial chain-2.

With each round you increase the number of single stitches in between the double "V" stitches.
You need to count carefully.
And you need to makes sure that each round starts with a double stitch (ie a chain-2 + a dc), and ends with the correct number of single stitches.

You can find the original pattern with UK terminology and step by step pictures here.

Thank you Lucy very much for your instructions!

Thanks for stopping by.
Many kisses,
Vivi

Nautical beaded earrings!

Hello guys!

I present you my new listing on my Etsy shop ! Those earrings are perfect for every occasion but especially on Independence Day.

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.[from Wikipedia]

My inspiration for those earrings is a pair of shoes that are made in our family business.

You can find more shoes on Facebook! Soon, you will be able to find and buy those shoes on Etsy!

Stay tuned!
